About:

CBSE is a self-financing body which meets the recurring and non-recurring expenditure without any grant-in-aid either from the Central Govt. or from any other source. All the financial requirements of the Board are met from the annual examination charges, affiliation fee, admission fee for PMT. All India Engineering Entrance Examination and sale of Board's publications. The jurisdiction of the Board is extensive and stretches beyond the national geographical boundaries. As a result of the reconstitution, the erstwhile 'Delhi Board of Secondary Education' was merged with the Central Board and thus all the educational institutions recognized by the Delhi Board also became a part of the Central Board . Subsequently, all the schools located in the Union Territory of Chandigarh. Andaman and Nicobar Island, Arunachal Pradesh, the state of Sikkim , and now Jharkhand, Uttaranchal and Chhattisgarh have also got affiliation with the Board.

AFFILIATION BYE-LAWS

1. Short Title and Definitions

  1. These Bye-laws shall be called Central Board of Secondary Education Affiliation Bye-laws.
  2. They are effective from 28th January, 1988 with modifications/amendments from time to time.
  3. In case of any dispute(s) regarding the withdrawal or not granting affiliation or any other matter pertaining to upgradation and/or any matter arising in respect of anything pertaining to affiliation with any school and/or any other person, society, company or organisation, the courts and tribunals at Delhi shall have the exclusive jurisdiction to entertain such disputes.

2. Definitions

1. In these Bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires:

  1. “Affiliation” means formal enrolment of a school among the list of approved schools of the Board following prescribed/approved courses of studies up to class VIII as well as those preparing students according to prescribed courses for the Board’s examinations.

  2. “Affiliation Committee” means Affiliation Committee of the Board.
  3. “Board” means the Central Board of Secondary Education.
  4. “Chairman” means the Chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education.
  5. “Secretary” means the Secretary of the Central Board of Secondary Education.
  6. “Examination” means examinations conducted by the Board..

INSTRUCTIONS AND PROCEDURE FOR ON-LINE APPLICATION

AFFILIATION FEES

A. Affiliation Fee in respect of Independent Schools
Approval of middle class syllabus:

  • Independent schools within the country Rs.25,000/-
  • Independent Schools  Rs.40,000/-

Fresh Provisional Affiliation for Secondary Classes (Class X)

  • Independent schools within the country Rs.75,000/-
    Rs.50,000/- (If already affiliated upto Middle Class)
  • Overseas Independent Schools  Rs.1,25,000/-
    Rs.75,000/- (If already affiliated upto Middle Class)

Upgradation Senior Secondary level

  • Independent schools within the country Rs.50,000/-
    Rs.1,25,000/- (If switch over from other Board)
  • Overseas Independent Schools Rs.75,000/-
    Rs.2,00,000/- (If switch over from other Board))

Introduction of additional subject

  • Independent schools within the country (Science Subject) Rs 5,000/- per subject
  • Independent schools within the country (Other Subject) Rs 3,000/- per subject
  • Overseas Independent Schools (Science Subject) Rs. 15,000/- per subject
  • Overseas Independent Schools (Other Subject) Rs. 10,000/- per subject

Extension of Provisional Affiliation

  • Independent schools within the country Rs 25,000/-
  • Overseas Independent Schools Rs 60,000/-

B. Affiliation Fee in respect of Govt./Aided/KVS/JNV Schools

  • Fresh Regular Affiliation of Secondary Classes Rs.10,000/-
  • Upgradation to Senior Secondary level Rs.10,000/-
  • Introduction of additional subject (per subject) Rs.1,000/-
  • Annual Fee Rs.3,000/-

C.Overseas KVS Schools

  • Fresh Regular Affiliation of Secondary Classes Rs.25,000/-
  • Upgradation to Senior Secondary level Rs.25,000/-
  • Introduction of additional subject (per subject) Rs.2,000/-
  • Annual Fee Rs.5,000/-

D.Fee for Permanent Affiliation

  • Independent schools within the country Rs.50,000/-
  • Overseas Independent Schools  Rs.1,00,000/-

E.Appeal Fee for Permanent Affiliation

  • Independent schools within the country Rs.25,000/-
  • Overseas Independent Schools Rs.50,000/-
