Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), an autonomous organization under the  Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of School Education & Literacy, Govt. of India, Regional Office, Shillong invites applications in the prescribed format (Annexure-I) from eligible Indian nationals for filling up of vacancies as given below and for drawing a panel of candidates for the ts of Post Graduate Teachers, Trained Graduate Teachers and Miscellaneous Categories of Trained Graduate Teachers on DIRECT RECRUITMENT BASIS in the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas located in North Eastern Region (states of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim).

• Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) : 03 posts (UR-1, SC-2) (Commerce-1, Economics-2),
  Pay Scale : Rs. 9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4800,
  Age : 40 years as on 01/04/2010
   
• Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) : 128 posts (Hindi-13, English-25, Maths-38, Science-11, Social Science-11, Arts-6, Music-8, Physical Education – Female – 10, Librarian -6),
  Pay Scale : Rs. 9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4600,
  Age :  35 years as on 01/04/2010

How to Apply:

1. Last date of receiving application is 07/06/2010.
2. For GEN/OBC category, application must be accompanied by a fee of Rs. 400/- in the form of DD in favour of “Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti” payable at Shillong. No fee fo SC/ST/PH and Ex-Servicemen candidates.
3. Envelope containing the duly filled in application and Demand Draft(wherever applicable) must be superscribed in bold letters as “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF PGT or TGT (as the case may be) in_________________ subject.
4. Duly filled in application, complete in all respect must reach by ordinary post only, latest by 07/06/2010 at the address :  Deputy Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti,  Regional Office,  Temple Road, Barik Point, Lachumiere, Shillong – 793001

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES:

1. Since it is a Special Recruitment Drive for filling up vacancies of teachers in above mentioned JNVs, the selected candidates will be posted to any of these JNVs and will compulsorily have to serve for at least 10 (Ten) years in JNVs of these states.  They will not be considered for transfer out of NE Region before completion of 10 years period.  A bond is to be submitted in this regard by the selected candidates at the time of joining.

2. Those required to apply Through Proper Channel must act in such a manner that their applications are received from their employer well before the last date.  The advance copy sent by candidate must indicate in bold letter on the top of the application “ADVANCE COPY”.  The advance copy must accompany all desired documents, as mentioned above.  Such candidates may also note that in case a communication is received by the Samiti from applicant’s employer, withholding the candidate to appear in written test/interview, his/her application will be rejected and his/her candidature shall be cancelled.

3. Results of the written exam will be published in Employment News/Samiti’s Regional Office, Shillong Website in due course.  No enquiry in this will be entertained by NVS.

4. Canvassing in any form will disqualify a candidate.

5. The Samiti may take up the verification of eligibility of the candidate at any point of time prior to or after the completion of the selection process.  Even if Admit Card is issued to a candidate due to lack of information in the application form or otherwise and it is found that the candidate is not eligible, his/her candidature shall be summarily rejected.

6. Any dispute with regard to this recruitment will be subject to the court having its jurisdiction in Shillong only.

7. The Samiti may, at its discretion, hold re-examination as and when necessary in case need arises for the  same.  In such an eventuality, candidature will have to appear for such re-examination at his/her own cost.

8. No TA etc. will be paid for appearing in the written test.

9. Selected candidates are liable to be posted only in the JNVs located in North Eastern Region (states of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Meghalaya, Ar. Pradesh and Sikkim)

10. Selected candidates will initially be on probation for a period of two years, which can be extended at the discretion of the Competent Authority.

11. Qualifications acquired by the candidates should be strictly in accordance with the prescribed qualifications.  Any candidate seeking claim of equivalence of the qualifications with that of the notified one should furnish documentary evidence in support of their claim at the time of interview/selection, otherwise such cases will be rejected.  Similarly, where grades have been given, the position of the marksheets showing equivalent percentage of marks should be produced at the time of interview/selection.  In the qualification column, a candidate must write the exact nomenclature of the course perused & all information must be filled up on factual basis (no round-off marks permitted).

12. In case of any discrepancy or variation in the translated version of this advertisement is found in Hindi or any other language, the text provided in the English version will be treated as final.
